You are invited to join the pirates at the 6th annual Fort Myers Beach Pirate Fest to experience a few golden days of piracy.

The 2011 Pirate Fest will still host many of the same treasures of years past, but thar be a change in the winds.
Aye..., a change that will long be remembered.

The kind of change that can rid a pirate’s fear of the hangman’s gallows as if they were still safely back in Tortuga.

For those of you who do not know of such a place, Tortuga be an island in the Caribbean; it was one of the last free ports and a safe haven for piracy.

Witness this change as Old San Carlos Boulevard is transformed back into Tortuga, where countless pirates and wenches roam the streets. Swords will be raised and pistols may be drawn, and a few coarse words are sure to be exchanged.

But there is little need for concern, these are highly trained and professional pirates that perform at a level geared for children of all ages.

This year’s Pirate Fest will again provide a bevy of musical entertainment, even more one-on-one interaction between the pirates and patrons.

It will also include an expanded layout which will encompass a larger area. Participating motels, restaurants, and bars will piratically adorn their businesses to complement the atmosphere of Tortuga.

There will be great food and drink, arts and crafts, and merchandise vendors, choreographed pirates fights, pirate invasions, ship-to-shore battles, treasure hunts and costume contests for young and old, and a living history pirate encampment with period correct styled vendors.

So if you are not careful, you just may find yourself having a good time amongst pirates while learning a little history of the golden age of piracy.

The 6th annual Fort Myers Beach Pirate Fest will be held on Columbus Day weekend, October 7th - 10th, near the bridge on Old San Carlos Boulevard in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

Come for the day or stay with us for the weekend, as there is now more than ever to see and enjoy at this year’s Fort Myers Beach Pirate Fest!

Entertainment and scheduling may be subject to change without notice.
